How To Spice Up Your Relationship

We all reach a stage in our relationship where fires seem to die down and being with our partners starts to feel like a routine.  In this post I’ll be sharing a few ways to really add some spice back into your love life in no time at all.

  1. Pamper Yourself

There’s nothing more attractive than a man or woman that takes care of themselves. Treat yourself to a bath and a couple face masks, go get a massage, or even get a hair cut. I know this sounds incredibly simple but you’ll feel refreshed and confident, and your partner will feed off of that.

2. Give each other space

When you’re around your loved ones too much you get used to them. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but after a while you’ll have less to talk about because you do everything together. Spending a little time away gives you and your partner the chance to miss each other. After being a way for a few hours/ days you’ll really want to see that person and tell them everything that happened while you  were gone.

A great way to do this other than going and treating yourself like I mentioned before, is to go spend time with your friends by getting a few drinks, or seeing a movie. You could also try going to the gym for a couple of hours after work or spending the weekend at your parents house.

3. Lingerie

This might not be for everyone but I love surprising my partner with lingerie or a cute costume. I know a couple of people who wait for a special occasion to dress up, but its equally as gratifying to see when first coming home after a stressful day. Dressing up is something intimate and adventurous to introduce to your love life and can be really playful and fun.

4. Try Something New Together

Date nights can get really boring when you do the same old dinner and a movie all the time.  A great way to make date night really fun is to try something new together! Go to an escape room. Go to Laser Tag. Bring out your inner artists and go to a Paint Night. Doing new things with a partner will bring out the inner child in both of you and lead to great new memories.

5. Take a vacation

We alllllll need to recharge our batteries once and a while. Getting away from work, your friends and family can be a huge reset for your relationship. By getting away from technologies and the stresses of your everyday life you can really start focusing on each other. Traveling is also really great  for team building because you’ll both be heavily relying on each other to get around and ask for things if you don’t speak the language. So try getting away for a few days or weeks and come back a whole new couple.

6. Go the extra mile

Every once and a while it’s good to go above and beyond for our loved ones. My boyfriend is a sucker for pancake breakfasts and when I find I have a little extra time in the morning I’ll surprise him with a table full of food. It makes him super happy and me even happier because I start off my morning with a belly full of food and some quality time with my partner.

By doing little things whenever you get the chance you’re showing that you really care. Although whoever you’re with definitely knows you love them, it’s always nice for them to see how much you love and appreciate them through the little things.  You can do this by leaving love notes, taking care of all of the chores for them, making an awesome dinner for the two of you, planning a game night at home and much much more. I promise they’ll feel closer and more affectionate towards you after.

I hope this post helps to add a bit of spice back to your love life. Let me know if you tried any of these tips in the comments below or if you have  any questions or comments.

Get Up To $25 Dollars Off Your First Uber Ride!

To redeem this offer, use Code = alexc8904ue when purchasing your first ride!

With Uber taking over the city, I decided to give it a try a couple of months ago and I am completely obsessssssed. Uber is super convenient for 3 reasons – It’s cheap, reliable, and there’s no hassle.

Uber is the most cost effective means of traveling. If you live in a big city like I do, taxi’s can be very pricey when going from one side of town to the other. In addition to cheap pricing, Uber offers the option of sharing your ride with another passenger for about half the price of a solo trip. The only downfall to this is that it may take you longer to arrive at your destination, but if you’re not in a rush it’s the best option in my opinion!

With thousands of Uber’s around, your driver is never really more than six minutes away. So say good bye to waiting years for your taxi driver to show up! On the App you’re also able to track your driver, give him a call, and cancel the ride without charge if its under five minutes of placing the order. Talk about amazing!

I doubt I’m the only person that’s ever had an issue or two with taxi drivers. I’ve had drivers tell me”my debit machine doesn’t work” forcing me to go to a bank and withdraw, and have gotten yelled at for not tipping large amounts on short rides. Uber sets your bills to be charged automatically from your debit visa or credit card and doesn’t force you to tip. So paying isn’t an awkward situation at the end of your car ride, you can just hop out and go! Trying to find your ride is also very easy because the app shows you a picture of your driver and provides the license plate. (This is also ideal if something were to happen during your ride and you need to track down the driver.)

I hope this post pushes you to try Uber for the first time and fall in love with this easy means of travelling. Here’s a code you can use that saves you up to $25 off your first ride. code = alexc8904ue This also will help me  save up to $25 off of my next one!

happy travelling!

Five Simple Steps To A More Organized Life!

You may feel like your life is cluttered which has stopped you from being able to accomplish anything. When we are disorganized and our homes are a mess, it is hard to focus on the daily tasks we need to be accomplishing, and even harder to focus on your goals for the months and years ahead. Getting your life and home organized is the key to success.  Below is a list of tips to get you more organized and push you one step closer to your dreams!

  1. START PLANNING!

If you aren’t using a planner or some sort of agenda/ calendar, I strongly suggest you go and get one now. Having something to keep track of what you are doing in the weeks to come is one of the best ways to stay organized. Not only is it a great creative outlet which makes it super fun to work on every week, but it’s also a really efficient way to keep track of all of your activities.

My favourite planner to use is the Erin Condren.  Here is what mine looks like for the first week of May.

I like to decorate my Agenda with lots of stickers because it makes planning feel less like a chore and more like a fun project to accomplish each week. I like to write down all of the days that I’m working or need to exercise, the days I’m  visiting friends or family, what my cleaning focus is, etc. By writing everything down I ensure that I’m focusing on accomplishing my goals.

2. WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING!

A great quote I  once read states “A short pencil is better than a long memory.” This kind of goes hand in hand with planning, but writing everything down is super useful if you want to stay organized.

Even the people with the best memories will forget birthdays, anniversaries, or due dates for bills to come. So always keep a pen and a note pad with you, or even start making a habit of using the notepad on your phone on a daily basis. You’ll become a lot more efficient, trusssst me!

3.  MAKE SCHEDULES FOR YOURSELF AND STICK TO THEM!

Organized people always know what their next move is. By writing everything down and using a planner, you’ll know exactly what it is that you need to do and when. (That’s the easy part) The key to being efficient is setting realistic time expectations of how long you want to be doing a certain task, and moving on to the next project if something has gone over the time you’ve allotted yourself. Only allow yourself to go back and finish anything that was taking up too much time AFTER you’ve completed all of your tasks.

4.  KEEP ONLY WHAT YOU NEED!

Only having what I use and need makes for a cleaner environment. This is one of the most important tips I can give you. When you throw out everything you don’t use or love, you create a more positive environment.

In this first image I decided to show you part of what my skin care collection looked like before I committed to organizing myself properly. I can honestly say that I didn’t use most of these products, I just had them because I knew they were expensive.

When I decided to clean everything out –  I took everything off the dresser, went through each item one by one and asked myself if I loved the product I had in my hands. When I answered no I would place the product into a separate black bag and continue to the next item. I ended up with less than half of my skin care products and gave away the rest to friends and family.

This is what part of my collection looks like now. It makes me so happy every time I look at it, and I know it’s exactly the right amount for me. I now am able to see all of the products I own and its very easy to clean up after.

5. GIVE EVERYTHING YOU OWN A HOME!

This goes back to what your parents probably taught you when you were younger. “Put it back where you found it.” This honestly sounds so simple its almost stupid, but most of us forget to put things back in their place after we use them. When your items don’t have a place to rest they’ll end up all over your home and you’ll end up with twice the amount of cleaning.

I cannot count the number of times I’ve walked through the door, thrown off my shoes and left them right in the middle of the hallway. I then would continue to the living room where I’d leave my purse and jacket on the couch and walk over to the kitchen to prepare myself food where I’d leave a couple of rings and my watch after washing my hands. Walking through the doors I’d basically leave a trail of items everywhere I went! Doing this would lead to a huge mess and even a bigger headache to clean up. This easily could have been avoided had I just taken five minutes to put everything back in its place and would have saved countless amounts of hours on cleaning and looking for misplaced items.

So now I challenge you all to start planning and writing things down, go throw out everything you don’t use and arrange a space for every item you decide to keep. And most importantly, I challenge you to be happy!

xoxo
